“Collaboration & strategic partnerships must be at the heart of our efforts to effect concrete change in the lives of women as economic actors, for the benefit of all—women, men, boys & girls.”

Amadou Mahtar Ba, Chair of the WEI Board of Directors

Unleashing women’s economic potential, within the labor force and as entrepreneurs, is recognized as an immense, multidimensional and multitrillion dollar global opportunity: driving growth & innovation, enhancing corporate performance, boosting economies and driving socioeconomic and environmental progress.

However, enabling women to fulfil their economic potential requires concerted, collaborative action. WEI—a response to the Call to Action of the United Nation’s Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment—proposes a global, collaborative platform, to support women’s economic empowerment.

A key goal of WEI is to develop innovative, strategic partnerships with visionary corporate and institutional partners, as well as individuals, to invest in women’s economic entrepreneurship and empowerment. WEI is seeking partners to join our global WEI initiative to:

  • Fund the WEI innovation & investment platform for women entrepreneurs
  • Design and launch innovative, women’s entrepreneurship pilot projects that can be scaled
  • Co-develop and implement projects that support women entrepreneurs in non-traditional sectors
